"Porto Pilgrimage" is a documentary-style visual poem about the elderly of Portugal. During their visit to the country, director Tine Tabak encountered many older people - mostly men - spending their later years outdoors, often reminiscing about their youth with a sense of melancholy.
This was a special project for me because I discovered a crucial difference in the on-screen presence of a subject when there was a genuine connection, as opposed to a brief, random encounter. Sincerity is something worth nurturing.
